Mentorship looks different for each child. Every young person is a unique being, and youth mentoring programs acknowledge (and celebrate!) these differences. At the Boys & Girls Club of Placer County, our staff and volunteers take time to know, understand and accept our young people for who they are, what they’re going through, and who they have the potential to be.

We've partnered with Blue Line Arts to bring weekly Art classes to our Club Members at the Union Pacific Railroad Clubhouse. For the first session Club Members learned about camouflage, as well as oil pastel and watercolor. Art Instructor Maddy showed Club Members examples of camouflaged lizards and explained that animals use camouflage to hide from predators. Take a look at what our Club Members created!

Someone to look up to. Someone to talk to about dreams and fears. Someone to celebrate victories big and small. A good mentor is there to listen, to support, and to care.
At the Boys & Girls Club of Placer County, young people find positive adult mentors in staff and volunteers who notice their strengths, listen to their concerns and open up doors of possibility. From connecting youth to a program that deepens their interests to sparking their curiosity in a future career field, inspiring mentors at the Club help kids and teens explore their full potential.
